WINDOW DRAIN SYSTEM
The eyes are the windows to the soul, the windows are the eyes of a house, we peep through windows and behind curtains, they are our way of letting the sunlight in and keeping the rain out, they have utility, they have style, they are simple and yet they are complicated. Know more about our window drain systems service!
In all, windows are a bundle of contradictions but they work very well and that is why we use them. Essentially, they are just there to let the views in and provide a conduit for viewing outwards. But, what some people don’t know is that they can sometimes cause a few problems as well, especially when it comes to our old friend, water.
Raining and Pouring
A deluge of rain can be one of the most annoying things to happen to you at the same time as being one of the most comforting things to experience. It all really depends on whether you are on the inside or the outside. But here is the thing – we count on the windows to keep us in this comfortable state. They keep the rain out but they also show us its power.
However, if you haven’t got your window geared up to deal with the rain, you might be surprised to see the water coming in a little bit through the sill. What? You might think… well, it turns out, rain is crafty and windows are more complicated than you thought in their dealings with it…
Sill
Unless you have a drain weeping system in place, the water that slaps against the pane will gather in the sill and it will clog, causing it to sometimes seep through.
The weeping system that we like to propose is one that allows the water to drain out through slits and gravity, keeping it away from the walls and from the vulnerable points of entry. This is system is very simple but very effective. It will ensure that you are able to remain in that comfy space, while the storm outside continues to rage, without the danger of an uninvited guest in the form of minor flooding.
Don’t Panic!
When using a hose to clean windows or in wind-driven rain, the sill or the track area are liable to become a host for some water. This isn’t a problem in and of itself. You just have to keep an eye on it and make sure that it doesn’t become too much of a problem.
When you realise that you don’t already have a system in place and that it would be a welcome addition to the house, you can give us a call to discuss some of the options further.
Installation
In these situations, we will never leave you high and dry (pun intended). Or maybe, we always will? Well, loose metaphors aside, what we ensure is that we are able to install this as well as sell it to you. We won’t leave you with a system that doesn’t work at the end of the day.
